History

Built in 1897, the house of former owner Schockmann looks back on 120 years of moving history.
First imperial post office, after the world wars accommodation of American soldiers, admission of evacuated and refugees, service station of the savings bank until 1987,
the building had been a place of art for 25 years.

A part of the house lived from 1990 until his death in December 2015 Dr. Wulf Becker-Glauch, a nephew of Paula Modersohn-Becker, the most important German expressionist painter. He worked as a psychiatrist in the Alexian Hospital in Münster. Since 1976, his interest has increasingly been on art therapy.
Becker-Glauch's involvement also involved the promotion of young artists.
 

In this spirit the house has been passed on since September 2016 by the owners Jaimun Kim and Euisun Yi as "House of Art Enniger".

House of Art Enniger - Objectives

In cooperation with art and culture-builders of the region, the House of Art offers Enniger courses and summer academies in the creative area for all ages.

In addition, exhibitions are organized by regional and international artists, as well as space for life and project-related work.

The house has exhibition rooms, a large garden, a workshop, as well as guest rooms.

Jaimun Kim
 

  • Has lived in Germany for 25 years.
  • He studied sculpture at the Kunstakademie Münster and is a masterclass of  Prof. Joachim Bandau.
  •  freelance artist for 16 years.   
  • Prior to his studies in Münster, Jaimun Kim has already graduated in ceramics at the renowned Hong-Ik University in Seoul.
  • Member of the Westdeutsche Künstlerbund.


Euisun Yi

  • Has worked in Korea as a jewelery designer.
  • Five years ago, she sold her business and has been living in Germany ever since.    


In 2015 they bought the house Hauptstr.66 in Enniger, the former imperial post office.
